Solution

Given :-

  • Equation, 4x + 6y = 15_________(1)
  • 6x - 8y = 14__________________(2)

Find :-

  • Value of x & y by substitution method.

Explanation

Substitution Method

By, equ(1)

==> 4x = 15 - 6y

==> x = (15 - 6y)/4_____________(3)

keep in equ(2)

==> 6 × [ (15 - 6y)/4] - 8y = 14

==> 90 - 36y -32y = 56

==> 68y = 90 - 56

==> 68y = 34

==> y = 34/68

==> y = 1/2 .

keep value of y in equ(3)

==> x = ( 15 - 6×1/2)/4

==> x = (15 - 3)/4

==> x = 12/4

==> x = 3

Hence

  • Value of x be = 3
  • Value of y. be= 1/2.

Verification Answer .

For, this keep value of x & y in equ(1)

==> 4×3 + 6×1/2 = 15

==> 12 + 3 =15

==> 15 = 15

That's Proved.
