Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

4x+{(x-y) /8}.=17

4x + x-y/8 = 17

(32x + x-y) /8=17

33x-y=17x8

33x-y = 136........equation(1)

2y+x-(5y+2)/3=2

2y+x-5y+2/3=2

(6y+3x-5y+2)/3=2

6y+3x-5y+2=6

y+3x+2=6

3x+y=6-2

3x+y=4...........equation (2)

solving equation 1and 2

33x-y=136

3x. +y=4

_______

36x=140

x=140/36

x=35/9

substitute x=35/9 in equation 2

3(35/9)+y=4

35/3+y=4

(35+3y)/3=4

35-3y=12

-3y=12-35

-3y=-23

3y=23

y=23/3
