Solution:

Let p(x) = 4x² + 4x + 1

= ( 2x )² + 2*2x*1 + 1²

We know the algebraic identity:

a² + 2ab + b² = ( a + b )²

________________________

= ( 2x + 1 )²

( perfect square )

Therefore ,

p(x) is a perfect square .
