It is given that y = 2 ,

and 4y - 3 = 17

Substitute y = 2 in given equation ,

4y - 3 = 17

=> 4×2 - 3 = 17

=> 8 - 3 = 17

=> 5 = 17 [ False ]

Therefore ,

y = 2 is not a solution of given

equation.
