this is similar to the identity:- a^2-b^2= (a+b)(a-b)
so using the identity we get,
(√5+1+√5-1)(√5+1-√5+1)
=(2√5)(2)
=4√5

hope this helps!

Hey

Here is your answer,

=(√5+1)^2 - (√5-1)^2
=(5+1+2√5) - (5+1-2√5)
=(6+2√5)-(6-2√5)
=6+2√5-6+2√5
=2√5+2√5
=4√5

Hope it helps you!
