1

(5,2) = (x,y)

x = 5 , y = 2

--> substituting in px + 3y = 1,

px + 3y = 1

p*5 + 3*2 = 1

5p + 6 = 1

p = 1-6/5 = -5/5

p = -1

--> substituting in 2x - qy = 3

2x - qy = 3

2*5 - q*2 = 3

10 - 2q = 3

-2q = -7

q = -7/-2

q = 7/2

putting value of p & q in p+q we get,

p + q = -1 + 7/2

p + q = -2 + 7/2 (here i did cross multiplication) (i.e 2*-1 +7*1/)

p + q = 5/2

HENCE THE ANSWER OF THIS QUESTION IS (b) 5/2
