5(3 - x) + 1 = 3(x + 4)

15-5x +1 = 3x +12

-5x-3x = 12-1-15

-8x = -4

x = -4/-8

x= 1/2

5(3 - x) + 1 = 3(x + 4)

remove \: the \: brackets \: by \: multiplying

15 - 5x + 1 = 3x + 12

16 - 5x = 3x + 12

 - 5x - 3x = 12 - 16

 - 8x =  - 4

x =  \frac{ - 4}{ - 8}

x =  \frac{1}{2}

x = 0.5
