Mass/ Mass percentage =

 mass of solute \frac{mass of solute}{mass of solution} x 100

 in 40% sugar in sugar solution

   we get

\frac{x}{300} x 100 = 40%

x = 120 gm

In 50 % we get

\frac{y}{300} x 100 = 50%

y = 150m

40% = 120 gm

50% = 150 gm

  150 -120= 30 gm
