According to given sum,

let us assume that 5root3 is an rational number.

let it be in the form of p/q where p & q are co primes.

5 \sqrt{3 }  =  \frac{p}{q}

 \sqrt{3}  =   \frac{p}{5q}

LHS is root3 which is an irrational number but RHS is a rational number.

so this contradicts that root3 is a rational number.

Hence root3 is a irrational number.
