let 3x +1 = t

= 5t^2 + 6t - 8 = 0

= 5t^2 + 10t - 4t - 8 = 0

= 5t(t + 2) -4(t+2) = 0

= (5t-4)(t+2) = 0

= t = 4/5 , -2

3x+1 = 4/5

x = -1/15

3x + 1 = -2

x = -1

x = -1, -1/15

Hope it helped you

Answer:

x= -1/15, x= -1

Step-by-step explanation:

First expand (3x+1)^2 and the multiply by 5 which will give you

45x^2+ 5+30x.

now multiply 6(3x+1) and subtract 8 and write the whole as

45x^2+5+30x+18x+6-8

solve this and you will get the answer

that goes as:

45x^2+48x+3=0

45x(x+1)+3(x+1)

45x+3)(x+1)=0
