x = $\dfrac{ - (-1) \: ± \sqrt{ {-1}^{2} \: - \: 4(24)(10)} }{2(24)}$

x = $\dfrac{ 1 \: ± \sqrt{1\: +\:960} }{2}$

x = $\dfrac{ 1 \: ± \sqrt{961} }{2}$

x = $\dfrac{1\:±\:31}{48}$

x = $\dfrac{1\:+\:31}{48}$

x = $\dfrac{32}{48}$

x = $\dfrac{2}{3}$

Similarly

x = $\dfrac{1\:-\:31}{48}$

Here value of x came negative. So, neglected.
