Given: The expression -5/4 × [8/5 + 16/15]

To find: The value of it?

Solution:

  • Now we have given the term -5/4 × [8/5 + 16/15]
  • Distributive property is multiplying the sum of two or more addends by a number will give the same result as multiplying each addend individually by the number and then adding the products together.
  • The formula for distributive property is:

                 a x (b + c ) = ab + ac

  • So applying it, we get:

                  -5/4 × [8/5 + 16/15] = -5/4 x 8/5 + -5/4 x 16/15

                                                    = - 2  -  4/3

                                                    = -6 - 4 / 3

                                                   = -10 / 3

Answer:

So the value of the given expression is -10/3.
