First Method

Using Distributive property of multiplication over addition

a(b+c)=ab+ac

  \frac{ - 5}{4} \times \frac{8}{5} + \frac{16}{5} \times \frac{ - 5}{4} \\ = \frac{ - 5}{4} \times ( \frac{8}{5} + \frac{16}{5} ) \\ = \frac{ - 5}{4} \times \frac{24}{5} \\ = - 6

Second Method

 \frac{ - 5}{4} \times \frac{8}{5} + \frac{16}{5} \times \frac{ - 5}{4} \\ = - 2 - 4 \\ = - 6
