(5/4)n + 7 = 27

(5/4)n = 27-7 = 20

n = (4/5) × 20 = 4 × 4 = 16

When you multiply a number by 6and subtract 5 from the product,you get 7 . Find the number?

Let the number be x.

Multiply x by 6 gives 6x. And substract 5, so 6x - 5. It is given that, its result is 7. So,

6x - 5 = 7

6x = 7+5

6x = 12

x = 12/6 = 2.

The number is 2.

•What is the number one third of which added to 5 gives 8

Let the number be x.

So, (x/3) + 5 = 8

x/3 = 8-5 = 3

x = 3 × 3 = 9.

Number is 9.

•Construct 3 equations starting with x=5

Any mathematical operation done on both sides of equation never changes it's result. So

x = 5

Add 5(or any number) on both sides.

x + 5 = 5+5

x+5 = 10 (first equation)

Substract 5 from both sides

x - 5 = 5-5

x - 5 = 0 (second equation.)

Multiply 5 on both sides.

5x = 5 ×5

5x = 25 (third equation)
