Given:

Artificial satellite is going around earth at distance (H)  = 1600 Km

Radius (R) = 6400Km

Gravity (g) = 9.8 m s^{-2}

To Find:

Period of the revolution = ?

Orbital Velocity =  ?

Solution:

We know from orbital velocity-

R = 6400Km

Radius of the orbit (r) = 6400 + 1600 = 8000Km

v = \sqrt{\dfrac{gR^{2} }{r} }

v = √9.8 ×  (6.4 × 10^{6})²/ 8 × 10^{6}

v = √401 × 10^{6} / 8

v = √ 50.1 × 10^{6}

v = 7.07 × 10^{3}

T = 2πr / v

T = 2 × 3.14 × 8 × 10^{6} / 7.07 × 10^{3}

T = 7.10 × 10^{3} seconds
