√5=√-5 squaring on both sides we get, 5=-5 or, 5+5=0 or, 10=0 . Where did I creat mistake?

squaring both sides u will get

5=5

as the square of negative terms is also positive

on squaring both sides...

 ( { \sqrt{5} )}^{2}  =  { (\sqrt{ - 5} )}^{2}  \\  \\ 5 =  - 5

as square will only cancel the root not make it positive.
