LCM of 3 and 6 is 6

2x−y=3−−−eqn(2)

Multiplying eqn(2) with 2

4x−2y=6−−−eqn(3)

then subtracting eqn(3) from eqn(1) we get x=0.

Substituting x=0 in eqn(1) we get y=−3

Substituting x=0 and y=−3 in x−py=6

⇒ 0−p×(−3)=6

p=2
