5. A and B together can complete a piece of work in 15 days. They started

working together but after 11 days, A left. The rest of the work is completed

by B in 12 days. In how many days can A alone do the whole work.

=> The amount of work done by them together in 1 day = 1/15 + 1/10

= (2+3)/30 = 5/30 = 1/6

Given, they worked together for 2 days.

=> The amount of work done by them together = 2*(1/6) = 1/3

The amount of work to be completed by A alone = 1 - 1/3 = 2/3

The number of days taken by A alone to complete the remaining work = (2/3)/(1/15) = 30/3 = 10
