5. A, B and Care elements in the third short period. Oxide of A is ionic, that of B is amphoteric and that of (C) is a
giant molecule. A, B and C will have atomic numbers in
the order

Answer:  Here is your answer:

Third period is as follows: Na, Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Cl, Ar

oxide of A is ionic which means it must be an oxide of a metal. Otherwise, it will form a covalent bond with a non-metal.

So,oxide A is either Sodium or magnesium (we cannot consider Aluminium as A)

Oxide of element B is amphoteric, which means that it must be aluminium as only Zn and Al form amphoteric oxide and only Aluminium is present in third period. (This was the reason why we couldn’t consider A as aluminium).

At last, Oxide of element C is a giant molecule, which means C is silica (singular, Silicon).

Now, in a period, the atomic numbers increase from left to right

so the correct order of their atomic numbers is A<B<C.

Hope it helps, cutie ☺️☺️ ❤️❤️✌️✌️
