This can be proved through many ways. Here the theory is that the plane mirror displays image of the object the same with same size and distance. The distance of image of the object will be at the same distance behind the mirror as it is infront of the mirror.
We know, the magnification of a plane mirror is +1 which means the size of both the image and the object will be the same.
⇒ Magnification, m = v / u
⇒ 1 = v / u
⇒ v = u
Also,
⇒ m = h / h' , where h' and h are height of the image and the object.
⇒ 1 = h / h'
⇒ h' = h
Hence, Proved.
The formulas are true for any spherical mirrors whether it be convex or concave.
