Answer:

Let the resistance be R, also given R = 2Ω

three such resistors in series will besome R1 = R+R+R = 6Ω

when four similar sets of 'R1's are connected in parallel

\frac{1}{R_{eq}} = \frac{1}{R_{1}}+\frac{1}{R_{1}}+\frac{1}{R_{1}}+\frac{1}{R_{1}} = \frac{4}{R_{1}} = \frac{4}{6} = \frac{2}{3}\\\\R_{eq} = \frac{3}{2} = 1.5 ohms

given:

resistance of each resistor is 2ohm.

Now;

when three resistors are connected in series.

equivalent resistance :R=2+2+2=6ohm

Now when four sets of 6ohm resistance are connected in parallel.

Equivalent resistance:R'=(R/4)=6/4=3/2=1.5ohm

Hope it helps...
