Answer:

Number of articles = 6

Cost per article = 15

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of articles produced that day = n

Cost of production per article = 2n + 3

Total cost of production = n X (2n + 3) = 90

⇒ 2n² + 3n = 90

⇒ 2n² + 3n - 90 = 0

Solving the quadratic equation,

(2n + 15) X (n - 6) = 0

n = 6 OR n = \frac{- 15}{2}

Since, the number of articles produced cannot be a fraction.

n = 6

Cost per article = (2 X 6) + 3 = 15
