Answer:

Odd numbers 1 3 5

Numbers greater than 4 are 5 6

Numbers that fit the criteria are 1 3 5 6

Probability =\frac{Number\  of \ favorable \ outcomes}{Total \ outcomes}

Given,

fair dice is thrown. That is sample space = {1,2,3,4,5,6}

Total outcomes when it is thrown = 6

odd number = {1,3,5} = 3

Number greater than 4 = {5,6} = 2

Hence, the favorable outcomes for a number to be either an odd number or a number greater than 4 = 3+2 =5

Therefore, required probability = \frac{5}{6}
