Answer:

33 1/3 ohm

Explanation:

resistance of r¹ and r² =5+5=10 ohm

resistance of r³= 10 ohm

resistance of r⁴ and r⁵= 10 ohm

total resistance =10×10×10/10+10+10= 33 1/3ohm.

Equivalent resistance between point D and B is 10/3 ohm

Current through DAB is 3Amp.

R1= 5 ohm

R2= 5 ohm

R3 = 10 ohm

R4 = 5 ohm

R5 = 5 ohm

V= 10 v

we have R1 and R2 in series let as R12

R4 and R5 are in series let as R45

and then

R3, R45 and R12 are in parallel

Formula

for series resistance is

Req= R1+R2+R3+R4...…..

for resistor in parallel

1/Req= 1/R1+1/R2+1/R3...…

so for

R12= R1+R2

R12= 5+5

R12= 10 ohm

R45=R4+R5

R45= 5+5

R45= 10 ohm

as all three are in parallel so

1/Req = 1/R12 +1/R45 +1/R3

1/Req = 1/10  + 1/10 + 1/10

1/ Req = 3/10

Req = 10/3 ohm

(b) Current through DAB

current=voltage/ resistance

I= 10 / 10/3

I = 3 Amp

Current through DAB is 3Amp.

hence the resistance between D and B is 10/3 ohm.
