A health check-up camp was organised in Lovely Public School last week, on Monday, 28 August, 2020. The abnormal check-up reports came as a shock for everyone.
More than 50% of students from class 6 to 8 were found anaemic. Students from class 3 to 5 were underweight while few of them were overweight. 90% of students had weak eyesight, with almost all of them compulsively requiring glasses.
Less use of fresh fruits and vegetables and increased usage of packaged foods and junk foods can be explained as the cause of the above reports. The abnormal health needs to be taken seriously to save the younger generation of the country.
Outlets of junk food should be decreased. Innovative food outlets using fresh fruits and vegetables should increase. Hope parents pay heed to the reports and their children's health.
