For climbing upward with acc. a

T=m(a + g)  -  - (1)

For climbing downward with acc. a

T=m(g-a)  -  - (2)

For climbing upward with uniform speed

T=mg -  - (3)

(a)

By using eq. (1)

T=50(10+5)

T=50 \times 15

T=750N

(b)

By using eq. (2)

T=50(10-5)

T=50 \times 5

T=250N

(c)

By using eq. (3)

T=50 \times 10

T=250N
