5. A rectangular ground is 80 m long and 50 m
broad. In the middle of the ground, there
is a circular tank of radius 7 metres. Find
the cost of turfing the remaining portion
at the rate of 0.50 per square metre.​

Answer:

so as we know L=80 and b = 50 so area of rectangle = L X B

80 X 50= 4000

now area of circle radius = 7

πr^2

= 22/7 X 49

= 154

Now coat of remaining area

4000-154 = 3846m^ 2

cost of remaining area = 3846 X 0.50

=1923.
