c= ₹161

d= ₹179

ratio= 5:4

(cp of mixed rice in 5:4)

(161×5 + 179×4)/ 5+4

=1521/9= ₹169

sp-cp = p

sp= ₹202.80

202.80-169= 33.8

(calculate p% based on cp)

(33.8×100)/169

=20%

Given :   A shopkeeper mixes two varieties of rice one costs 161 per kg and other costs 179 per kg in the ratio 5 : 4 respectively.

He sells the mixed variety at 202.80 per kg.

To Find : his profit percentage.

Solution:

Variety A  = 5x  kg

Variety B = 4x kg

Total = 9x  kg

Variety A cost =  161 * 5x  = 805x    Rs

Variety B cost =  179 * 4x  = 716x   Rs

Total cost = 805x + 716x  = 1521x  Rs

Selling price = 202.80 * 9x  = 1825.2x  Rs

Profit = 1825.2x  - 1521x  = 304.2x  Rs

Profit % = ( 304.2x/1521x) * 100  = 20 %

his profit percentage is 20 %
