Answer:

5% loss

Step-by-step explanation:

total cost price of two suitcase = 5000 Rs

selling price of 1st suitcase =  10% gain

let cost price be 100 , then selling price is 110

if cost price is 2500 , then selling price is ?

now cross multiply = (2500 * 110) / 100  =  2750 Rs

selling price of 2nd suitcase = 20% loss

let cost price be 100 , then selling price is 80

if cost price is 2500 , then selling price is ?

now cross multiply = (2500 * 80) / 100   =   2000 Rs

total selling price of two suitcase = 2750 + 2000 = 4750 Rs

here cost price is more than selling price , therefore it is a loss

loss = cost price - selling price

       = 5000 - 4750

       = 250 Rs

loss percentage = (total loss / total cost price) * 100

                           = (250 / 5000) * 100

                           = 5% loss

Hope its helpful.
