(i) the volume of water in the pool when it is full,
(ii) the area of the pool which is in contact with the water.​

Volume = Length x Breadth x Depth

At shallow end,

V1 = 100 m x 40 mx 1 m = 4000 m³

At deep end,

V2 = 100 m x 40 mx 5 m = 20000 m³

Total volume = V1 + V2

= 4000 m³ + 20000 m³

=24000 m³

Volume of water is therefore 24000 m².
