5. A vessel is in the form of an inverted cone. Its
height is 8 cm and the radius of its top, which is
open, is 5 cm. It is filled with water up to the brim.
When lead shots, each of which is a sphere of radius
0.5 cm are dropped into the vessel, one-fourth of
the water flows out. Find the number of lead shots
dropped in the vessel.

vessels is cone so

given :radius =5cm

height=8cm

vol of cone =1÷3 ×π×r^2h

=π÷3×5×5×2×8

=π÷3×25×16

=π÷3×200

=200π÷3

lead shots are sphere so,

given =radius is 0.5

vol. of sphere = 4÷3π r^3

=4÷3π 0.5×0.5×0.5

=π÷6

one fourth=1÷4×200π÷3

=50π÷3

let the no. of spheres are"n"

n×π÷6=50π÷3

π to π are cancel &6 is canled by 3 soo

n÷2=50

n=50×2

n=100

100 lead shots will dropped in the vessels
