Explanation:

There is a linear relationship between current voltage and resistance which can be written as;

V = IR

This law was explained by Ohm.

In series circuit, the voltage will drop according to the resistance offered in the circuit while the current shall remain same.

Using these principles we calculate that;

Total V across wire of length 100 cm is 24 with one end at 4 and other -24V

AT 20cm length, its 1/5 of total length;

= 24/5

= 4.8

Voltage at 20 cm is +4 – 4.8 = -0.8V
