5. A worker covers a distance of 40 km from his house to his place of
work, and 10 km towards his house back. What is the displacement
covered by the worker in the whole trip? If he came back to his

Explanation:

average speed = total length / total time

if x= distance AB in km then the two times to add are

Tab= x/40 and Tba= x/60

AvSpeed= 2*x/(x/40+x/60) = 2*60*40/(40+60) = 48km/hr
