Let the number she thought be x

ATQ ,she subtract the 5/2 from the no.= x-5/2

She multiply the result by 8 =8(x-5/2)

Solution:-

3x = 8(x-5/2)

3x=8x -20

20=5x

x=4

So, the number she thought is 4.

Answer:

Correct Question :

Amina thinks of a number and subtracts 5/2 from it. She multiplies the result by 8 the result now obtained is 3 times the same number she thought of. what is the number ?

To Find :

  • The number

Solution :

Let, the number be X

A. T. Q

(x - 5/2) x 8 = 3x

(2x-5)/2 x 8 = 3x (2x-5)*4 = 3x

8x-20 = 3x

8x-3x = 20

5x = 20 x

20/5 = 4

Therefore, the number is 4
