Area =( base×height) /2

12=x(x-2) /2

12×2=x(x-2)

24=x^2 - 2x

x^2 - 2x-24=0

x^2-2x +1= 24+1

(x-1) ^2 = 25

x-1=√25

x-1=+-5

so the answer =

x=5+1=6

x= -5 +1= -4
