Perfect question

An object is starting from rest and moving with an acceleration of 2m/s² . What will be its velocity after 10 seconds ?

Answer

Given :

Initial velocity = Zero. (object in rest)

Acceleration of the object = 2m/s².

Time = 10sec.

To find :

Final velocity of the object.

Solution :

As we are providing with Initial velocity, accerlation and time, we can use 1st equation of

motion .i.e.,

  • v = u + at

where,

v denotes final velocity

u denotes initial velocity

a denotes acceleration

t denotes time

So, using first equation of motion,

➠ v = u + at

➠ v = (0) + (2)(10)

➠ v = (2)(10)

➠ v = 20m/s{.}

thus, velocity after 10 seconds is 20m/s.

Some related equation of motion :

1st equation of motion : v = u + at

2nd equation of motion : s = ut + 1/2 at²

3rd equation of motion : v² = u² + 2as

thus, velocity after 10 seconds is 20m/s.
