1 .  chirality of a compound refers to its nature of unsymmetry . what happens is if a compound does not have symmetry wrt a plane or a point it is considered to show optical behaviour like polarization of light , etc. for this reason term chirality was being used to determine the optical behaviour of a compound. chiral compounds don't have symmetry and show optical behaviour. ex.:- CHClBr
