5. Assume a tortoise can move at an average speed of 0.1 m/s and
the average hare can move at a speed of 15 m/s. Each starts at rest
from the same spot and each moves for one minute in the same direction
before the hare stops to wait for the tortoise to catch up. How long will
the hare have to wait before the tortoise reaches him?

Distance travelled by Hare = 15 m/s * 60 s = 900 m

Distance travelled by Tortoise = 0.1 m/s * 60 s = 6 m

Distance to be travelled by the tortoise to catch the hare = 900 m - 6 m = 894 m

Time taken by the tortoise to cover 894 m distance = 894m/0.1m/s = 8940 s

Hence the Hare must wait for 149 mins or 2 hours and 29 minutes.
