Rajput warriors like mirza raja jai singh of amer, raja jaswant singh of marwar were important and powerful mansabdars in the Mughal.
Jai singh managed to bring shivaji to mughal court but he promised his safety. Some records suggests that mirza helped shivaji to escape from agra, bcuz of hindu brotherhood.(this matter was exposed by some marathi brahmins in mughal court).Aurangzeb poisoned jai singh for this act in 1667 at burhanpur.
Ram singh also released guru tegh bahadur from mughal jail. This created a doubt in the mind of Aurangzeb.Ram singh was sent to assam to fight with ahoms but he was not fully successful. In 1669 Aurangzeb removed ram singh from mughal court and decided not to take any rajput in mughal court .In the same year he ordered to destroy hindu temple 1s .In 1779 he reintroduced jazia tax on Hindus.
Jaswant singh died in 1678 .His son ajit singh was infant .Aurangzeb wanted ajit to be raised in mughal harem with muslim traditions.Otherwose he will not accept him as a king.A General of marwar ,Durgadas rathore fought with Aurangzeb for 30 years through gurilla warfare on the behalf of ajit singh .Sisodhyas of Mewar also helped durga das.
Chhatrasal raised the banner of revolt against the Mughals in Bundelkhand at the age of 22, with an army of 5 horsemen and 25 swordsmenin 1671. During the first ten years of his revolt he conquered a large tract of land between Chitrakoot and Panna on the east and Gwalior on the west. His domains stretched from Kalpi in the north to Sagar, Garah Kota, Shahgarh and Damoh in the south. Some of the Mughal generals who were defeated by him were Rohilla Khan, Kaliq, Munawwar Khan, Sadruddin, Sheikh Anwar, Sayyid Latif, Bahlol Khan and Abdus Ahmed etc.
All the three were at peace with the Mughals when Aurangzeb ascended the throne. But, Aurangzeb never kept faith in the loyalty of these Rajput rulers. Aurangzeb deputed Raja Jai Singh in the Deccan where, ultimately he died in 1666 A.D.
Aurangzeb wanted that if Ajit Singh was converted to Islam, he would be recognized as the ruler of Marwar. But this was not acceptable to the Rajput's. This led to the beginning of the 30-year war between the Rathors and the Mughals.
