x is the price of 1 banana then,

Let the selling price (S.P) of 36 bananas be 36x,

The loss will be 4x,

Loss percent=loss/cost price x 100

=loss/(selling price +loss) × 100

=4x/(36x+4x) × 100

=4x/40x × 100

=1/40 × 100

=10%
