Given that,

The  electrolysis of a solution of copper nitrate under  standard conditions.

E_{Cu^{+}/Cu}=0.34\ V

E^{0}_{H_{2}O/H^{+}}=-1.23\ V

We know that,

The minimum voltage is equal to the cathode voltage subtract anode voltage.

In mathematically,

E=E_{cathode}-E_{anode}

We need to calculate the minimum voltage

Using formula of voltage

E=E_{cathode}-E_{anode}

Put the value into the formula

E=0.34-(-1.23)

E=1.57\ V

Hence, The minimum voltage is 1.57 V.
