Answer:(a) Downy feathers as well as semiplume feathers are able to trap pockets of air close to the bird's body to help keep it warm.

(b) Birds have different type of beaks as it depends upon there habitat and environment. An Eagle has different beak than a pegion. It also depends upon there eating. Different bird species have differently shaped beaks because each species has evolved a beak design that suits its diet and lifestyle.

(c) Parrots have hooked beaks. It helps them to crack nuts and hard fruits. The curved beak helps them to eat even hard and unripe fruits. They are useful in climbing.

(d) Birds use their feet and claws in walking, climbing, holding foods, swimming and perching. Birds use their claws for self defence also. The shape of their feet and claws depend on their food habit. Claws have long curved nails.

(e) Reeds and grasses are also used in nest construction. Reeds and grass stems can be bent or woven by birds to construct their nests. Some birds line their nests whilst others do not. Nests can be lined with a variety of materials including fine grass, moss, down from plants, sheep wool, animal hair and feathers.
