(1). Elegiac Couplet: This couplet were used in the Greek poems about small things that matter. They are comprised of hexameter line which means six poetic feet.

(2). Heroic Couplet: This couplet were used in the English narrative poems. They are comprised of pentameter which means five poetic feet.

(3). Chinese Couplet: This couplet were usually used as to wish someone. They are comprised of two lines interrelated to each other.

(4). Ghazal Couplet: This couplet were used in the ancient Arabic poems. They consists of five rhyming words in the whole poem of line in same length.

(5). Sonnet Couplet: They were used in the poems of Elizabeth and Shakespeare. They are comprised of fourteen line poem.
