First the mixture should be subjected to sublimation process to separate Iodine by heating. Now, the remaining mixture of sand and salt can be separated by solublising the salt in water and subsequent filtration. The residue is sand and filtrate is salt solution. The salt can be recovered by evapouration of water from filtrate.
