The molecules of liquid are quite closer .

Liquids have fixed volume but not fixed shape just because the particles in a liquid are further apart than the particles in a solid , allowing them to easily slide past each other , they are arranged disorderly . Its molecules are free to move that's why it does not have fixed shape but have fixed volume . Their is also less intermolecular attraction between the molecules....
