In an ionic compound, bondinginvolves a metal and nonmetal, whereas, in the covalent compound,bonding is between nonmetals. 3.Ionic compounds are more soluble in water than covalent compounds. 4. Ionic compounds have definite shape whereas, covalent has no shape.
