Yes,In my opinion, I think the family decision of bringing Baba back home from the zoo was quite wise and was an amazing idea. I think so because Baba was narrator's wife's most prized possession. She loved it like her own child and couldn't bear the pain of staying without baba . She missed it thoroughly and often asked the narrator about Baba. On Baba's side , Baba was not accepting food from the caretaker and was getting weak day by day. Baba missed it's mistress greatly and always wanted to go back and live happily with her like his childhood.
