Answer:

The greater the amplitude, the greater is the loudness. When the amplitude is increased by 2 times then the amplitude will be increased by 4 times. Loudness is a measure of the response of the ear to the sound. Amplitude determines the loudness of a wave.

Loudness means how loud something is. Amplitude means the maximum absolute value of some quantity that varies. The loudness of sound- take your favourite song for example; varies from time to time. There are some high notes there are some low notes. Because of the fact that loudness varies from time to time, loudness and amplitude are related.

P.S. here the definition of amplitude is in terms of physics. Amplitude can also mean the measure of something's size, especially in terms of width or breadth; largeness, magnitude, or the maximum absolute value of the vertical component of a curve or function, especially one that is periodic (in mathematics). The proper meaning of loudness is the perceptual strength or amplitude of sound pressure, measured in sones or phons, and the physical strength of the sound pressure level, measured in decibels.
