Answer:

Industrial Melanism and the Visibilty of the moths during each time period

Explanation:

Birmingham, the village in England, was once known for it's splendid beauty and nature. lichens ( a natural indicator of pollution) were quite abundant as pollution was not there. this caused the tree barks to be covered with lichen, giving the bark a white color. the dark moth that sat on the white bark was easily visible to the birds due to the contrast, and were eaten up more than the white moth. at this time, white moth prevailed.

During industrialism of Birmingham with all the pollution from industries, coated the tree bark with black colored soot. so now white moth were more visible than the dark colored ones. Again due to contrast, the white colored moth were eaten up. at this period, dark colored moth prevailed.

Conclusion:

Pre-industrialization: White moth prevailed

Post-industrialization: Dark moth prevailed.

this was proved to be the un-controlled effect of natural selection, making it a good example to prove it.

I hope you understood it my friend.
