1. The climate of the Thar desert is extreme. It becomes too hot during the day and too cold during the night. Summers are above 50° and winters are below
0°.
2. It has sparse plant life and mostly small animals are found here.
3. The gulches present here flood when it rains.
4. It has large sand dunes and has sandy soil in texture.
5. The only small river flowing in it is Luni. There are a number of salt water lakes here.
